Cal State Fullerton Launches
New Linux Certificate Program

University Extended Education at Cal State Fullerton will offer a new Linux Operating System Certificate Program for spring 2000. The 105-hour program can be completed in two semesters. The three required classes are: Linux Installation and Administration, Network and Internet Administration Using Linux, and Linux Utilities and Maintenance.

Upon completion of the Certificate in Linux Operating system,
graduates will be able to:


-Install, administer and maintain Linux.
-Manage resources on a Linux system.
-Describe and use the Linux directory and file  structures.
-Send mail using Linux.
-Understand DNS.
-Understand and describe the Linux graphical user interface (GUI).
-Be proficient in the multiple disk driver.
-Use Apache Web Server in the Linux environment.
-Use the most common Linux utilities.
