Richard Foerster provided a presentation and demonstration based on development tools for rapidly building php/mySQL applications on his Mandrake 9.2 desktop.  Specific packages discussed included webmin, WizMySQLAdmin and  phpCodeGenie.  Among many other uses, webmin allows a developer to quickly set up mySQL tables and manage them through a web browser based interface, facilitating development.   In some shared- server environments, the developer may not have access to webmin.  In those cases a single page php script {WizMySQLAdmin} can replace many of the functions that would otherwise be performed through Webmin.   After the table structures have been defined, phpCodeGenie can be used to quickly create browser forms, confirmations and other pages for all essential data table operations.

Martin Flemming also provided a very interesting picture show presentation, via his laptop, of a recent trip to the Computer History Museum in the San Francisco area.
